Remortgaging
There are many reasons why you might need to remortgage your property. Thring Townsend's Private Property team handles a variety of different refinancing packages. These include remortgaging to fund a second home or buy to let" property, general remortgaging and further advances for property improvements or maintenance, and equity release schemes. The team is supported by Thring Townsend's independent financial adviser, Richard Armstrong.
Transfer of Equity
The Private Property team is experienced in handling the various situations where a transfer of equity occurs. Some examples include:
Gifts - many couples decide that they would like to own a property bought in one of their names in joint names. This can be for personal reasons, or as part of inheritance tax planning. We are able to refer to the Trust and Tax team, who are able to give advice on difference schemes for tax planning.
Separation and divorce - sadly, many relationships now end in separation or divorce. Assisted by our Family team, we can give advice about the options available for dealing with the home; this may include letting, sale and/or remortgaging.
Trusts - the team is experienced in handling all aspects of land that is held on trust. We work closely with the Trust and Tax team,which enables us to provide an all-around service, from creation of the trust, to its final winding up.
